and we spent our whole lives
listening to their shit,
all that hissing, and believing
the authenticity of their shit
so, no matter what, we’re all
prejudiced against some things—
We keep rewinding
and playing that tape
over and over.
It’s rare we ever flip the tape
around to hear
what’s actually on
